Lake Benson

Garner & Raleigh’s Lake Benson is a mixture of privately-own lake-front land and parcel used for a community park (about 60 acres). All southern shore access is privately owned.
On the northern shore is Lake Benson Park, located on Buffaloe Road in Garner and includes a walking trail, four picnic shelters and town-wide special events, including the annual Independence Day Celebration!

In warm weather, fishing and boat rentals are available at Lake Benson Boat House from sunrise to just prior to sunset from Wednesday through Sunday. No private boats are permitted on the lake.

Lake Benson Park is the only preserved area on the lake and is located on the northern shore. The park is a combination of rolling, grassy areas and wooded areas.
Picnic and restroom facilities, and the park itself, are open year round and seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to sunset. There are no snacks/drinks in the park. But you can find restaurants and shops nearby on US70 and US401.
